#177 Aether dimension's skybox causes shaders to glitch

No shaders will be able to render the Aether dimension and most of them won’t make the Cockatrice glow properly:

  • Sildurs Vibrant Shaders : Always night time, no light emitted (torch, glowstone, quicksoil glass emit no light) (Cockatrice is fine)
  • SEUS Renewed 1.0.0 : The skybox at night is way too bright (+cockatrice glow is really weird)
  • SEUS v11.0 : The world is really dark no matter the time. (If using “Extended Shaders” mod, the shader works at day but the skybox at night time is too bright) (+ cockatrice full glow)
  • SEUS PTGI E6 : The sky is black. (+ cockatrice not glowing)
  • MrMeepz v05 : Bright sky at night (same color as day) (+cockatrice full glow)
  • KUDA 6.5.56 and v6.1 Legacy : Skybox is a solid color (cockatrice fully bright, also in Overworld)
  • Chocapic13 V6 : White screen in Aether (Cockatrice is fine in Overworld)
  • BeyondBelief 1.3.1 : The shaderpack completely turns off in the Aether. (+ cockatrice full glow)

It’s not clear to me where our skybox rendering code is in error here, and appears to be an issue caused by Optifine’s shader system. I’m not particularly inclined to patch our code for Optifine due to the project being closed-source and difficult to debug.

However, we will add an option to disable the Aether’s skybox as a configuration option for Optifine shader users. While it’s not the most incredible solution, it is a viable workaround for users.
